- Available Local Scholarships -
Allan McCullough Scholarship: Baker High School senior. The student shall have demonstrated a capacity to excel in math and/or physical sciences; the student shall have demonstrated genuine curiosity in math and/or the sciences; and the student shall have been a good citizen. Please go to the Guidance Office for more information.
Association of Computer Professionals in Education (ACPE): The Association of Computer Professionals in Education annually awards scholarships to outstanding students in Washington and Oregon who have demonstrated a high involvement with technology during their high school careers. This year $10,000 has been allocated for scholarships up to $2,500 each to be awarded to graduating high school seniors who are planning to pursue studies in a technology related field. Completed application and support materials are due March 11, 2009. Finalists will be selected and notified prior to the ACPE Conference on May 6-8, 2009. Associated Oregon Loggers, Inc. Scholarship : The AOL scholarship competition is a $1,500 grant awarded annually to an Oregon high school senior who is accepted in a four year college or university education program in a forest resources production field of study. The college must be accredited by the Society of American Foresters.
Baker American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship: This scholarship is provided to a deserving female high school senior to attend a college of choice. Selection will consider scholarship and effort, school/community activities and/or work experience, and essay responses. Please go to the Guidance Office for more information.
Baker City Fraternal Order of Eagles: Scholarship shall be used at an accredited college, university, business college or trade school in the state of Oregon. Previous recipients not eligible. Applicants will be chosen on the basis of academic record 30%, financial need 40%, and character 30%. Having a family member that is a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in neither an advantage or a disadvantage.
Baker City Rotary Club Scholarship MS Word / Adobe: The annual Rotary Scholarship is established to assist two Baker High School graduating seniors in attending an institution of higher learning of their choice.
Baker County Cattlewomen/ Baker County Livestock Association Scholarship: This fund has been established to provide a scholarship to a deserving and worthy student interested in an agriculturally ralated career that is a graduate of high school in Baker county North Powder and may be used at the discretion of the student for the purpose of further education.
Baker Education Association Scholarship: Baker High School senior planning to pursue a career as a professional educator. Scholarship, leadership, school/community activities, essays, and recommendations.
Betty Borgen Memorial Fund Scholarship: The family of Betty Borgen and Soroptimist International of Baker County are pleased to offer a $500 scholarship annually to a female recipient.
Bob McKittrick Scholarship: Award is available to graduates of the Baker County School District who intend to enroll as a full time student in a recognized major at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. Majors in the College of Agriculture Sciences will receive priority. Award is for a one year period. Please pick up an application in the Guidance Office.
Baker County Quilt Club Scholarship: The Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior attending a community college or a four-year university and has a minimum GPA of 3.00. Selection is based on the GPA, personal interview, application responses, and recommendations.
Cockram Memorial Scholarship: Applicants must have an intent to major in agriculture. Must be a BHS graduating senior. Applicants will be chosen by members of the Cockram Family.
Colonel Harry L. Dale Scholarship: Renewable. Baker high school senior. Admitted and attending the University of Oregon (Eugene). Scholarship Criteria: Financial need, leadership, school and community activities, citizenship, character, essays, and recommendations.
COSA Youth Development Program Scholarships: Seven scholarships for the state of Oregon. One must go to a student from Baker County. Attend a four-year Oregon private/public institution of higher education or an Oregon community college. 3.50 GPA or higher, school and community activities, and a one-page autobiography.
CUAO Financial Literacy Scholarship: The Credit Union Association Of Oregon's Financial Literacy Committee is offering two $500 scholarships fo the school year 2010.
Knights of Columbus Scholarship: Graduating high school senior women and men. Applicants must be members of St. Francis DeSales. Criteria: Christian involvement. Please go to the Guidance Office for more information.
Leo Adler Foundation : Number and amount of scholarships vary. All Baker High School seniors are encouraged to apply.
NAWIC Education Foundation CAD/Design/Drafting Scholarship : The CAD/Design/Drafting Competition is a contest designed for senior high students. The contest provides recognition to students for creative design, successful problem solving and craftsmanship in preparing architectural drawings. Entries are evaluated for detail, accuracy and originality of work.
Old West Federal Credit Union Scholarship : The Old West Federal Credit Union Scholarship Grant Progam.
Oregon Collectors Association Hasson/Newman Memorial Scholarship : $3,000 First award, $2,000 Second award & $1,000 Third Award. Oregon Collectors Association Hasson/Newman Memorial Scholarship Fund announces the "Credit In The 21st Century" scholarship contest. Applicants must submit an essay (between 1,000 and 1,500) words on the subject "Credit In The 21st Century." Entries must be typed and able to be read in three to five minutes. All graduating high school seniors are eligible with exception of the children or grandchildren of owners or officers of collection agencies in the State of Oregon.
Oregon Hunter's Association Academic Scholarship : The Baker Chapter of the Oregon Hunter's Association (OHA) is offering a scholarship to any person preparing to continue his/her education through a junior college, or a four-year college or university. This year a $500 scholarship will be awarded.
Oregon PTA's Teacher Education Scholarship : The Oregon PTA's Teacher Education Scholarship is a one time $500 award for Oregon residents studying for a teaching degree at an Oregon public univerity or college. Oregon community colleges that transfer credit in education to an Oregon four-year public institution also qualify.
Oregon State Fraternal Order of Eagles Scholarship Foundation: The Oregon State FOE has established the Eagles Scholarship Foundation to provide $1,000.00 scholarships each year. All seniors of accredited high schools in the state of Oregon are eligible to apply.
Oregon Student Assistance Commission (OSAC) Scholarship Packet: (Formerly the Oregon State Scholarship Commission): Award amounts vary. The Oregon Student Assistance Commission's 20 page application booklet includes applicant eligibility requirements, the application form and instructions, and descriptions of 165 scholarship award programs. Student complete one application form and list all scholarships for which they are scholarships are for graduating seniors from Baker High School or Baker County. Applicants are expected to mail completed applications and all required documentation (including seventh semester unofficial transcript).
Quarterback Club Scholarship: The Quarterback Club Scholarship has been established to provide an award to deserving Baker High School Senior Football players. This award assists the recipients and allows the student to pursue his educational goals. The dollar amount of the scholarship is $500. A maximum of three scholarships will be awarded annually.
Rods of Idaho and Oregon Larry G. Baker Scholarship: The Larry G. Baker Scholarship will award finalist with $1,300.00 to be paid directly to the Vo-Tech school of choice. School chosen and study pursued must be in the automotive field, approved by the scholarship committee of Rods of Idaho and Oregon.
Rosemary Poole Rouse Memorial Scholarship: Established by the family and friends of Rosemary Poole Rouse to benefit a graduating senior from Baker High School who is to attend Oregon State University.
Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year (SAMMY) $7500 Scholarship Award : 25 student-athletes to win a $7,500 scholarship. Principals, athletic directors, coaches, teachers, guidance counselors, parents and relatives are encouraged to nominate a student-athlete for the SAMMY Award. Additionally, ALL high school senior athletes can apply at bodybymilk.com.
Stewart Sullivan Scholarship: Available to Baker County residents. The scholarship is awarded for one year and renewable for four years.
U.S. Bank Internet Scholarship Program: Thirty $1,000 scholarships awarded in a random drawing.

Baker Lady Elks Scholarship: Given to a Baker High School senior girl pursuing higher education. Must be of good character and be recommended by an affiliated elk member (memeber can be a parent, grandparent or uncle/aunt).
Elks Legacy Scholarship: Scholarship to children and grandchildren of Elk members who are high school seniors, planning to attend college and exhibit the core values of the Elks National Foundation: Knowledge, Charity, Comunity and Integrity.
Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student: Four year awards. Amounts vary. Any high school senior who is a US citizen is eligible. Male and female students compete separately for identical awards. Applicants advance through local, district, and state competitions to reach the national competition.
Gertrude Fortner-Rose Haskell Scholarship: This scholarship is sponsored by Chapter AX of P.E.O. Sisterhood in Baker City. All female Baker High School senior students planning to pursue further study at an accredited college, university, or technical school are eligible to apply. Criteria: Personal integrity, scholarship, activities, and need are considered.
Mildred Rogers Scholarship: This scholarship is sponsored by Chapter AX of P.E.O. Sister hood in Baker City. All female Baker High School senior students planning to pursue further study at an accredited college, university, or techinical school are eligible to apply. Criteria: Personal integrity, scholarship, activities, and need are considered.
National Wild Turkey Federation Scholarship: Local, state and national awards. Graduating senior with a GPA of 3.0 who supports the preservation of the hunting tradition and participates in hunting sports. Students must be involved in school activities, leadership, and community involvement.
Oregon Trail Electric Cooperative Scholarship Program: Reciepient may attend any accredited vocational school, technical school, college, or university. Applicant or his/her parents must be actively recieving electrical service from OTEC. Click on link to download form/application.
P.E.O. Star Scholarship: The P.E.O. Sisterhood is an international philanthropic educational organization that promotes educational opportunities for women through grants, loans and scholarships. The P.E.O. STAR Scholarship was established in 2009 to provide $2,500 in scholarships to high school senior women attending an accredited post-secondary educational institution in the U.S. or Canada, full-time or part-time, in the fall of the academic year following high school graduation.

Elizabeth and Bernie Baer Scholarship: Baker County high school senior planning to attend education institutions beyond the secondary level. No restriction as to location of the college or university. Students must have not less than a "C" average to qualify for the scholarship.
Sanford & Mary Adler Scholarship: Baker County high school senior planning to attend an Oregon state funded college: EOU, OIT, OSU, PSU, U of O, WOU or an Oregon community college (no private schools). Students must have not less than a "C" average to qualify for the scholarship.
Norris E. Dodd Scholarship: Baker County high school graduate (past or present) planning to attend college in the State of Oregon. Students must have not less than a "C" average to qualify for the scholarship.
Grant Baker Federal Credit Union Scholarship:($500.00) High school senior residing in Baker County planning furtherance of his/her post-high school education in college, or a business/trade school. No one factor shall be controlling in the selection of a grant recipient. The committee, however, shall give primary consideration to factors of community involvement, motivation, attitude, and diligent utilization of abilities in and out of school, and group acceptance and leadership.
