Beepers and Cellular Phones:

Electronic devices such as beepers and cellular phones are not to be used on campus or turned on during the school day. Baker High School respects the role cellular phones may play in helping parents and students communicate, but also feels that when they are used during the school day they are a disruption to the education process. Students are to have cell phones turned off the entire time they are on campus during the regular school day. Students found with cell phones in plain view or with a cell phone on during the school day will have their phone confiscated until a parent can pick it up.

Profanity:

Baker High School promotes self respect as well as respect for others. Students will not use profanity, obscene language or obscene gestures while at school or school activities. Students who use profanity will be subject to disciplinary action and may be suspended. Any use of profanity toward a staff member will not be tolerated and will result in suspension.

Public Displays of Affection:

Self-respect and having respect for others does not include public displays of affection. Discretion and good taste are expected from everyone. Public display of affection will be limited to holding hands.

Radios/CD Players:

The school is not responsible for lost or stolen items, therefore students should not bring radios, stereos, MP3, players, CD players and other amplified devices to school.

Skateboards/Skates:

Students will not ride skateboards or any kind of skates on campus. Students who use a skateboard or skates to get to school will store these in their lockers. At no time are skateboards or skates to be used in the halls or around school entrances. The Baker Sports Complex is considered part of the Baker High School campus.

Substance Abuse:

Students will not possess or use any illegal substance and/or paraphernalia at school or school activities. Violaters are subject to law enforcement penalties.

Theft/Vandalism:

Students will not take, damage, or destroy the property of other students, staff members or the school. Violaters will be punished according to the law and may be suspended from school.

Tobacco:

Baker High School is a tobacco free campus at all times. Students, regardless of age, will not possess or use tobacco products on campus or at school activities.

Weapons:

Weapons of any kind are strictly forbidden on school grounds. This includes but is not limited to, knives, guns, explosives, and irritants such as mace. Guns or other weapons are not allowed in cars while parked on school property. Please be advised bringing a weapon to school will result in expulsion. Toys or replicas of any weapons are not allowed at school and possession will result in disciplinary action that may include expulsion.
